Robert was born and raised in West Michigan and his family origins are from the Baltic countries. In 2010, God called him to go to Latvia on a missions trip to help troubled and underprivlaged youth and he was hooked. He has been to Latvia, on average, two times a year since then. In 2013, Robert was asked to join the board of Directors for HIM.
